raising the urban walk: the High Line effect

This work focuses on studying the process of conditioning and redefining forsaken physical stand through the analysis, design, and development of the different layers that contribute symbiotically over public space.

As a result of the intervention, a wound of the first industrial stage has been converted into an ecological scar, thanks to the initiative of the neighbourhood association Friends of the High Line by opposing its demolition at the end of the 20th century.

Through this study, it is intended to extract a series of approaches suitable to another urban contexts, giving rise to new proposals in areas of similar standards.
